Rules
Season 1 of AJC will be full of ups and downs. Best efforts are being made to make rules and scoring that are both fun and fair. Bare with me as we learn some of the games!
GENERAL LEAGUE RULES
4 Subs max per season... if you have more than 4 substitutions, your spares only score half points for you!
1 Mulligan per season (drop your single lowest score)
All scoring decisions/disputes will be settled by the league board of directors (Percy, Michelle, Nancy, Fran)
01
Washer Toss
SCORING
In the "Sewer" = 3 pts
In the Box = 2 pts
Within a washer of the Box = 1 pt
Higher scores cancel all lower scores. So if one team gets 3 in the box but the other team gets one in the sewer, the sewer cancels all lower points.

Each team will throw 3 washers in one turn (not staggered turns). First throw of the match will be determined by rock/paper/scissors, then the team that scored last will throw first in the next turn (unless no points were scored in which case the order remains the same from the previous turn)

WINNING
Games go to 21 points and you can go over. The turn must end before tallying up points meaning if Player A goes over 21 before player B has finished their turn, finish the turn out as they may cancel points.
02
Poker - Texas Hold 'Em
SETUP
2 Tables of 8 players each. Once 8 are eliminated between the 2 tables, we merge to a final table.

CHIP STACKS
5000 starting stack
Blind Levels: every 15 minutes

Standard Texas Hold 'Em rules apply:
03
Bowling
Do you live under a rock? Everyone knows how to bowl!

We play 3 strings... highest score wins. Ties will be broken by a single ball, higher score wins... still tied? Throw until someone wins!
04
8-Ball
2 Divisions - A guys division and a girls division... if there are more of one group, we'll draw names for the person that plays in the other division. Round robin format, play everyone a single game. You score 1 point per ball you sink and 3 points for winning the game. A game win therefore is worth 10 points.

PLAYOFFS - The 2 highest totals from the round robin playoff in a single knockout race to 2 playoff to determine the top 4 standings.

Standard BCA 8-ball rules apply except we do not use "call shot"... therefore flukes count except the 8-ball. The 8-ball must be called in a pocket.
05
Darts
301 Partners. Each person takes turns throwing 3 darts at a time, alternating between teams. The object is to get from 301 to 0 first. Teams do not need to double-in but they do need to double/triple out. Bullseye can also win the game if you are left with 50.

Scoring: Round robin play using win/loss record followed by overall score (lower overall score breaks ties)

Double-one Rule: If a team is left with 2 points (or double one to win)... they may throw all 3 darts at the double-one to get out, meaning they can't bust. This only applies when teams get down to double one!

06
Curling
Single Knockout Tournament. 4 Teams of 4. We'll be playing 5 ends instead of the standard 9 in the interest of time. Winners and losers playoff for 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th.

Full curling rules found here:
SCORING: Games go to 75 points. Teams will place based on their win/loss record and ties will be broken by overall points. Any additional ties will be broken by head-to-head results.

If a checker is touching the line of the lower scored section, it will count as the lower score. All ties cancel each other out so for example if Team A has a checker in the 5 scoring ring and so does Team B, both cancel each other. If a checker is touching the outer line, it is out of play and must be removed from the board. Checkers are viewed as touching the line if you look down from directly above the checker and it is touching the line. Also, if a player shoots a checker and none of the opposing teams checkers are hit, the checker that was shot will be removed from play. If this occurs and the shooter accidentally hits their own checker into the 20 hole but they had failed to contact an opposing teams checker, both the shooter and the 20 get removed from the board and the 20 will not count!
07
Crokinole
Partners Round Robin. Draw for partners at the event. Each player takes turns flicking a checker of their teams color with the object to accumulate the most points each round. You must hit a checker of the opposite team or if the other team has nothing on the board, you can shoot for a 20 or shoot your checker anywhere on the board. You can hit any combination of checkers as long as one of the opposing teams checkers moves, it's a legal shot. Any checker landing in the 20 will be set aside to be counted at the end unless cancelled by the other team with a 20.
08
Axe Throwing
4 Teams of 4 will be formed by using a school yard pick at the event. Captains will be the 4 lowest people in the points standings. The order of picks will be from lowest point total to highest and then snake draft afterwards. Also, the captain that picked first will also choose which team they want to face in round one.

SCORING: Each person will throw 3 axes for a total of 12 axes thrown per team. The total score after these 12 throws dictates the winners. The point system used will be explained by the staff of the event. Here's the FAQ from the site:

09
Cribbage
Random teams of 2 (already drawn at the start of the season). Double knockout tournament. Read rules of cribbage here: Cribbage.pdf (fgbradleys.com)
RULE EXCEPTIONS: We will not be using "muggins" which means no stealing points from the other team. While you don't have to tell the other team if they miss points, it's good sportsmanship to do so!

Board Games
The 2 games being played in Season 1 will be Ticket to Ride and Tock (or Marbles as we call it).
Scoring and format for each game can be found on the event page.

Tock Rules | Rettna (wordpress.com)
Tock Rule Exceptions for Average Joe Cup:
Jack = Swap with another marble (can't be used as 11)
Four = Can only move backwards
Seven = Can be split up to go home only
Ace = Can be use to move 1 space, bring out a new marble, or get out of "heaven" which is the middle space on the board. Only an Ace can get you out of the middle!
11
Mini-Putt
Mini-Putt will be a singles event. Players will start in groups of 4 as defined on the event page. Standard mini-golf scoring... lowest score wins! Ties will be broken by number of "holes-in-one" scored and then by a single final hole putt-off. This will only happen when the points matter. For example, 5th place through Eighth place get 3 points while 9th place through 16th place get 2 points each so no need to break ties unless it changes the points awarded.

NOTE: There will be a 3 shot maximum over par per hole. So if the hole is a par 3 for example, the maximum score you can get is 6 so once you hit the maximum strokes, you don't have to finish out the hole, just record your max score on the sheet.
12

2. Beer Pong - Partners
